Job Summary:

The OPPORTUNITY:

Join a premier, 42-bed regional referral epicenter delivering world-class critical care to pediatric patients from birth to young adulthood. As a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit nurse here, you will care for the highest-acuity patients from Tennessee and surrounding states. This is an environment built for elite clinicians who thrive on clinical complexity, rapid pacing, and family-centered advocacy.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Provide Elite Critical Care:
Manage complex 1:1 or 1:2 patient assignments.

• Treat Diverse Pathologies:
Care for Level 1 trauma, major burns, post-op liver/kidney transplants, advanced neurological and respiratory conditions and pediatric patients with multiple, complex diagnoses.

• Manage High-Velocity Throughput: coordinate multiple admissions and targeted transfers

• Collaborate in Real-Time:
Partner directly with on-unit, 24/7 medical teams of Attendings, Fellows, Residents, and Nurse Practitioners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.

  • Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.

  • Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.

  • Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES

  • Care Planning (Novice):
    Demonstrates ability to anticipate resource needs, identify distinct tasks, set priorities, schedule activities, meet deadlines, and organize work within areas of direct responsibility. Competently handles multiple assignments often simultaneously by prioritizing work into manageable and measurable units. Ability to adapt to changes to patient care and area needs with minimal disruption and loss of productivity. Follows up to assure problems and issues are resolved.

  • Nursing Patient Education (Novice):
    Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency in providing patient education in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
