Job Summary
Supports licensed healthcare team members in patient care, providing information to patients and families, and following established plans of care. Works under delegation/supervision of a licensed professional in accordance with VUMC standards and licensure regulations.
ShiftM-F (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) No holidays, weekends, or on‑call.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborates with patients/families and health care providers in the delivery of health care services.
- Partners with the healthcare team by following established plans of care to ensure patient progress for effective outcomes.
- Supports plans to promote health and a safe, healthy environment.
- Additional duties may be assigned.
- Clinical Patient Documentation (Novice):
Demonstrates basic proficiency in patient documentation under direction. - LPN Patient Education (Novice):
Demonstrates basic proficiency in patient education under direction. - LPN Care Planning (Novice):
Participates in planning, prioritizes tasks, manages multiple assignments, and adapts to changes. - Clinical Competency (Novice):
Performs nursing interventions such as wound care, point‑of‑care testing, and vital signs.
- Performs routine tasks that impact team performance with occasional guidance.
- Uses discretion and research to solve routine problems.
- Applies knowledge of standards, processes, and procedures relevant to this role.
- Provides guidance to entry‑level colleagues.
- Supports and develops colleagues, continuously improving own skills.
- Builds and maintains relationships across areas.
- Communicates effectively and courteously.
- Delivers excellent service with compassion.
- Ensures high quality work and safety compliance.
- Manages resources responsibly and makes data‑driven decisions.
- Generates new ideas, adopts technology, and adapts to change.
- Licensure:
Licensed Practical Nurse (Tennessee). - Work Experience:
Minimum 1 year relevant experience. - Education:
Graduate of an approved discipline‑specific program. - Certifications:
None required beyond licensure.
