Job Summary
As an Oncology Infusion Nurse, you will influence patient care through collaborative relationships with your manager and participation in hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. Your role supports the improvement of patient outcomes and the future of nursing.
Responsibilities- Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions while maintaining accurate records.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ conditions.
- Utilize nursing process for individualized care to meet patients’ needs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of human growth, development, assessment, range of treatment, and care appropriate to patient ages.
- Promote hospital customer service initiatives.
- Perform technical skills and procedures required for infusion therapy.
- Act in the charge nurse role when needed: manage day‑to‑day activities, staff assignments, and serve as a clinical resource for the team.
- Respond promptly to information or follow‑up requests from physicians, staff, or patients.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure by the Tennessee Board of Nursing or a compact state board.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Administration Provider Card within 6 months of hire for RNs with six months oncology experience or 12 months if no oncology experience.
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or BMT Certified Nurse preferred.
