Registered Nurse, ED, Night Shift, TempForce - VUH

Overview

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) in Nashville, Tennessee is hiring Temporary Nursing Staff for 13‑week assignments in the Emergency Department. The Staffing Collaborative structure allows nurses to work across units within VUMC for a fixed assignment end date of 01/09/2027.

Apply the nursing process to plan and manage the care of complex patients. Prepare individualized teaching plans, provide patient education, collaborate with the health‑care team, communicate effectively, enforce evidence‑based care, and monitor outcomes. Float across entities as needed.

• Collaborate to establish the plan of care and coordinate implementation.
• Anticipate patient care needs across the continuum.
• Analyze comprehensive information to determine nursing diagnoses.
• Evaluate patient progress toward goals and apply appropriate interventions.
• Employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment.

• Registered Nurse in good standing.
• Graduate of an approved discipline‑specific program or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department RN experience (2+ years preferred).
• Licensure:
  Registered Nurse, BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

• Premium Pay: $65–$75/hr (Day shift $65/hr, Night shift $75/hr).

• Full‑time hours (36–40 hrs per week) based on unit needs.
