Position: Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $1,554 per week

Job Summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Stepdown RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Nashville, Tennessee. Required Qualifications
  • One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN
  • Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
  • Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) certification
  • NIHSS certification
  • Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
Essential Work Functions
  • Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and other telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, with a focus on cardiac care
  • Prepares equipment and assists physicians during cardiac‑related procedures and examinations
  • Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients
  • Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient’s cardiac status and response to interventions
  • Responds to life‑saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies
  • Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients
  • Initiates patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients
  • Maintains confidentiality of patients and client
  • Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
  • Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Required Essential Skills
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Proficient in reading/comprehending written instructions, following verbal instructions, and using PC skills
  • Physical Abilities: Must be able to remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.

    Must work effectively with varying personnel, demonstrating positivity and professionalism.

    Skills:

    Must grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move during procedures and equipment use.
