Job Summary
Our Extremely Low Birth Weight Team helps care for “micro preemies” that are at high risk of respiratory, neurological, and feeding complications. This specialized team is essential in our Level IV NICU and provides specialized support for some of our most vulnerable population.
Shift7 PM–7 AM, 36 hours per week. NICU experience highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate in establishing the plan of care, coordinate and implement care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyze comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
- Continuously apply the nursing process to evaluate patient progress toward goals and apply appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
- Employ strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
- Care Planning (Novice):
Demonstrates ability to anticipate resource needs, identify distinct tasks, set priorities, schedule activities, meet deadlines, and organize work within areas of direct responsibility. - Competently handles multiple assignments simultaneously by prioritizing work into manageable units.
- Adapts to changes in patient care and area needs with minimal disruption and loss of productivity.
- Follows up to ensure problems and issues are resolved.
- Nursing Patient Education (Novice):
Provides patient education in practical applications of moderate difficulty. - Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation (Novice):
Assesses and evaluates patients, conducts primary care interviews and physical examinations, gathers clinical data, and contacts the primary care provider and other members of the healthcare team. - Evidence‑Based Practice (Novice):
Searches for evidence to answer clinical questions under the direction of others.
- Licensure:
Registered Nurse or other appropriate licensure. - Experience:
Minimum 1 year in NICU or relevant nursing experience. - Education:
Graduate of an approved discipline‑specific program.
