Job Summary
Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health‑care team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.
Position HighlightsFast‑paced, specialized post‑surgical care on a brand new 17‑bed unit with a nurse‑to‑patient ratio of 1:5‑6. Care for adult patients ages 18 to 100 admitted for planned elective surgical procedures across multiple specialties. Workers shift: three 12‑hour shifts from 7:00p‑m to 7:00a‑m, 36 hours per week including weekends. Unit is an inpatient unit, not a surgery center.
What You’ll Need- At least 1 year of RN experience
- Nursing degree
- State or Compact license (TN license within 60 days of receiving a TN address, even if using a compact license)
- Collaborate in establishing the plan of care, coordinate and implement care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyze comprehensive information pertinent to the patient’s care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
- Continually utilize the nursing process to evaluate patient’s progress toward goals and apply appropriate interventions.
- Employ strategies to promote health and a safe, healthy environment.
Additional duties may be assigned.
Technical Capabilities (Novice)- Evidence‑Based Practice:
Search for evidence to answer clinical questions. - Care Planning:
Anticipate resource needs, set priorities, schedule activities, and organize work. - Nursing Patient
Education:
Provide education in practical applications of moderate difficulty. - Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation:
Assess and evaluate patients, conduct primary care interviews and physical exams, and gather clinical data for referrals or treatment pathways.
