Labor and Delivery Clinical Nurse Coordinator

Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordinates all functions in the Labor and Delivery unit during the designated shift. In collaboration with the management team, the CNC monitors and evaluates nursing care, serves as a resource for staff, and models the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.

• Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Participate in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
• Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
• Support efforts to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
• Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff; recommend and implement courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Assist with staff scheduling and manage practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
• Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Neonate Resuscitation (NRP) certification obtained within 60 months of employment start date (RN).
• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Bachelor’s degree obtained within 2 years of employment start date.
• At least 2 years of RN L&D experience.
