Job Summary
Oncology Research Nurse Specialist 2 assures integrity and quality of clinical research trials under occasional guidance. Plans and implements recruitment procedures, manages enrollment of the trial, and ensures compliance with protocols.
Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm CST.
- 1+ year of Oncology experience
- 1+ year of research experience
- Ability to analyze and deconstruct clinical trial protocols
- Extremely detail oriented
- Nursing experience
- Ability to interpret and navigate clinical trial protocols
- Proficiency in leveraging technology and digital tools
- EPIC experience
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations governing human subject research and incorporating them into research and care of participants.
- Prepare and process new research proposals, amendments, continuing review applications, and adverse events.
- Perform administrative duties for trials including procuring equipment, preparing documentation, and packaging and shipping medications.
- Utilize nursing skills to perform procedures, deliver individualized care, and abide by research protocols.
- Perform procedures required by each study protocol, recognizing the distinction between standard of care and research, and continually assessing the need for additional protections for participants.
- Recruit and identify eligibility of candidates, ensuring continued eligibility and troubleshooting recruitment strategies to complete trials in a timely manner.
- Provide education and training to personnel and participants in research‑specific methodology and procedures.
- Observe for and report adverse events to the principal investigator and all regulatory authorities as required by protocol, policies, and regulations.

- Scientific knowledge of different scientific studies (Biomedical, Applied, Physical).
- Regulatory compliance knowledge and ability to interpret and explain rules and regulations.
- Nursing patient assessment & evaluation, patient education, care planning, evidence‑based practice.
