Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized care to women during labor, delivery, and immediately postpartum. This role involves caring for newborns and supporting shared decision-making while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate labor progress and monitor fetal and maternal well-being.
• Administer medications and interventions as per clinical protocols.
• Assist with obstetric procedures including vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and D&Cs.
• Support postpartum care, including newborn assessment and initial stabilization.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately using established documentation systems.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with a minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery experience.
• Obtain and maintain certifications: AWHONN Intermediate (not advanced), or CEFM, ACLS, BLS, and NRP.
• Demonstrate proficiency in labor management, newborn care, and obstetric procedures.
• Possess current knowledge of hospital protocols and equipment related to obstetric care.
• Exhibit strong communication and teamwork skills.
