Registered Nurse – CVICU

Critical Care Nursing Position in CVICU

Provide specialized critical care nursing to post-operative cardiac surgery patients in a dedicated CVICU unit. Offer advanced hemodynamic management and support to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a high-volume, cutting-edge environment.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive post-operative cardiac care to immediate post-surgical patients, including those on ECMO, LVADS, and other advanced devices.
• Monitor and interpret complex hemodynamic data, including PA catheters and device-specific measurements.
• Perform advanced procedures such as central line insertions, Swan-Ganz catheter placements, intubations, and device management.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including intensivists, surgeons, and ancillary staff, to formulate and implement patient care plans.
• Document all patient care activities accurately using Meditech and adhere to unit protocols and policies.
• Educate patients and families about procedures, devices, and recovery expectations to enhance patient experience.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with current state licensure.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent critical care experience, specifically in CVICU.
• Strong proficiency with PA catheter management, hemodynamic monitoring, and advanced cardiac devices.
• Certifications:
  
  BLS and ACLS required.
• Demonstrated ability to perform complex procedures such as central line insertion and intubation.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills to thrive in a high-acuity environment.
