* Job Summary:

** The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) plays a vital role in delivering specialized care and managing the health needs of patients in either inpatient, ambulatory, or a combination of both settings. With advanced training and expertise, the APP focuses on subspecialized care, including chronic illness and disease management, ensuring continuity of care throughout the patient’s healthcare journey, which may span multiple years.

This role involves specialization in a specific organ system, where the APP provides expert consultation within their area of expertise as appropriate. The APP is integral to supporting patients across the continuum of care in both inpatient and outpatient specialty settings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes..

** The faculty at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Vanderbilt is a dedicated group of clinician scientist educators, covering all nine surgical disciplines of orthopaedic surgery.

Schedule:

*** 2 days (or varying combination) in Jackson, 2 days in Paris and 1 day in Dyersburg

* Preferred Qualifications:

*** Spine experience
* General orthopedics experience
** KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
*** Obtains and documents a health history; performs and documents complete, system-focused, or symptom-specific physical examination, assessment and plan of care.
* In collaboration, provides healthcare services for primary, acute and complex care of patients and manages patients’ overall care, identifying expected outcomes for diagnoses.
* Orders, performs, interprets and collects data using appropriate assessment techniques, relevant supporting diagnostic information and diagnostic procedures where indicated.
* Forms differential diagnoses and treats acute and chronic conditions.
* Prescribes therapeutic interventions for both pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic and surgical, needed to achieve expected outcomes.
* Utilizes evidence-based, approved practice protocols in planning and implementing care.
