American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III NICU position requiring therapeutic cooling experience and the ability to independently manage high-acuity neonates.
Details- Level III Neonatal ICU setting
- Cares for premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates including infants requiring therapeutic hypothermia/cooling
- Manages high-acuity patients requiring advanced respiratory and hemodynamic support
- Utilizes ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, and high-flow oxygen equipment
- Monitors and manages central lines, PICC lines, and umbilical lines (UAC/UVC)
- Administers and titrates IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products
- Shift runs 06:45-19:15
- 13-week assignment length
- Active RN license (TN or compact) required
- Current BLS (AHA) and NRP certifications required
- STABLE certification may be required
- Minimum 1 year of experience required; 3-4+ years of strong Level III NICU experience preferred
- Hands-on therapeutic cooling experience required
- Must be comfortable independently managing complex NICU patients with minimal supervision
- Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Must provide a US Social Security Number and US home address
- Recognize and respond quickly to neonatal deterioration and emergency situations
- Participate in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization
- Perform comprehensive neonatal assessments and closely monitor changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary NICU team
- Provide education and emotional support to parents and families throughout the infant's hospitalization
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Previous travel experience preferred
- Candidates should discuss assignment extension with their manager at least 45 days before the end date
