Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (Travel) - DAY SHIFT

Overview

Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (Travel) - DAY SHIFT

Location: Nashville, TN/On-Site

Duration: 3+ Months

DAY SHIFT

Responsibilities
  • Diffuse situations and report information appropriately while maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
  • Work in a corrections facility; correctional or similar experience preferred.
  • Support correctional nursing as a growing specialty addressing medical and mental healthcare needs of incarcerated populations and advocate for patients.
  • Provide compassionate, patient‑centered care to a vulnerable population and treat each patient as a whole.
  • Prepare Healthcare records for physician clinic visits; ensure physician orders are transcribed and followed through to meet patient needs.
  • Coordinate with physicians and outside departments; answer questions and provide teaching as needed; attend scheduled departmental meetings.
  • Supervise orientation and training for Healthcare department employees; provide ongoing teaching to current staff.
  • Prepare staff nurse schedules and communicate with vendors; help resolve scheduling conflicts and manage staff needs.
  • Take after-hours call and arrange nursing staff coverage to maintain Healthcare coverage as required by the facility.
  • Maintain Healthcare supplies and ensure availability of necessary materials; check and replenish as needed.
  • Ensure clinic compliance by maintaining records and documentation at all times.
Qualifications
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse license (LPN) with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
  • Ability to work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals; support and coordinate patient care.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with outside departments, provide teaching, and participate in departmental meetings.
