American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Night Shift NICU position requiring L&D experience and willingness to float across units.
Details- Work in the NICU at a public hospital transitioning to an LDRP care model
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Travelers will assist with cross-training efforts and provide coverage for Delivery/Mother-Baby during the transition
- Float to other units as needed, including serving as a sitter in any unit of the hospital
- First week of orientation scheduled 7a-7p (3x12s)
- May involve caring for incarcerated patients as part of the hospital's patient population
- No on-call requirements
- Active TN state RN license or compact multi-state license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, CPI or MAB, NRP, and STABLE
- Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required
- Strong experience as the baby nurse at deliveries required
- Experience with L&D required, along with willingness to float to other units
- Skills in IV therapy, starting and maintaining IVs, and administration of blood and blood products
- Experience with neonatal dosage calculations and administration of antibiotics/antivirals
- Experience with APGAR scoring and patient/family teaching
- Comfort attending high-risk deliveries and providing Mother/Baby care
- Experience with respiratory support including Bubble CPAP, HFNC, and ventilator management
- Provide direct care to neonates across a range of gestational ages, including those under 24-28 weeks and 29-34 weeks
- Support high-risk deliveries and assist with breastfeeding support and handling of breast milk
- Utilize isolation precautions and PPE for infectious disease control
- First-time travelers and local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Facility enforces a strict no-call policy
