American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Stepdown unit position requiring stepdown or acute neuro experience and ACLS/BLS certification.

• Work in the Neuro Stepdown/Acute Care unit (10 Tower) of a hospital setting
• Unit has 30 beds total: 22 Acute Care and 8 Stepdown beds
• Patient ratios are 6:1 on Acute Care and 4:1 on Neuro Stepdown
• Unit staffed with a charge RN over all of 10 Tower, 1-2 techs, and a unit secretary
• Acute Care side uses vital sign machines, high flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, and various drips for stroke patients
• Neuro Stepdown side uses Vapotherm, BiPAP, trach care, and titrating cardiac drips
• Common procedures performed include lumbar puncture and chest tube placement
• Uses Meditech documentation system
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend shifts required
• Experienced nurses may float after orientation

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required for Acute Care; BLS and ACLS required for Neuro Stepdown
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Acute care and neuro stepdown experience strongly preferred
• Strong nursing skills, time management, and critical thinking abilities required
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Provide bedside shift report, foster personal connection with patients, and participate in daily huddles
• Offers ICARE recognition, shout-out board, and employee of the month awards
• Considered a strong starting unit for nurses aiming to transition into ICU
• Scrub colors permitted include black, any shade of blue or grey, with any color scrubs allowed on Fridays
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
