American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit requiring therapeutic cooling experience and compact or TN RN licensure.
Details- Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit setting
- Cares for premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates including those requiring advanced respiratory support and therapeutic hypothermia/cooling
- Night shift schedule from 18:30-07:00
- 13-week assignment length
- Active RN license (TN or compact) currently in hand
- BLS (AHA) and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required, 3-4+ years of Level III NICU experience preferred
- Hands-on therapeutic cooling experience required
- Experience managing high-acuity neonates requiring ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, and high-flow oxygen
- Experience managing central lines, PICC lines, and umbilical lines (UAC/UVC)
- Experience administering and titrating IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products
- Able to function effectively with minimal supervision in a fast-paced NICU environment
- Provide direct nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates
- Recognize and respond quickly to neonatal deterioration and emergency situations
- Participate in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization
- Perform comprehensive neonatal assessments and monitor changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary NICU team
- Provide education and emotional support to parents and families throughout the infant's hospitalization
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on distance from the facility
- Previous travel experience preferred
