Nashville Veterinary Specialists in Nashville, TN is looking to add a Veterinary Assistant to our ICU team! Up to $2,500 sign‑on bonus for Licensed Technicians!

Compensation: $20 – $29/hr, based on experience. Additional shift and weekend differentials offered.

Schedule: Consistent, Three 12‑hour shifts per week. Overnights: 6p‑6a.

You are an experienced Veterinary Assistant dedicated to outstanding client service and excellent patient care. You understand the importance of maintaining a positive, respectful, uplifting hospital culture and genuinely love working with people that share that same value. • Determine levels of triage for ER patients
• Obtain history and enter it into electronic patient care system (Ezy Vet)
• Assist veterinarian in all aspects of care
• Perform restraint for physical examination, discuss estimate and plan with clients, carry out diagnostics, procedures, and medication administration
• Perform patient diagnostics, procedures and treatment which may include IV catheter placement, blood work, urinalysis, radiographs, CT scans, CPR, sedation, anesthesia, medication administration (SQ, IM, IV), dose calculation, and knowledge of medication adverse effects
• Advanced skill set (preferred, not required): central line placement, abdominocentesis, thoracocentesis, feeding tube placement, urinary catheter placement
• Discharge patients: fill medication prescriptions, ensure diagnostics and medications are complete, educate clients on at‑home care, and review discharge instructions with clients

• Minimum of 3 years working as a veterinary technician, preferably in emergency medicine
• Understanding of all basic veterinary knowledge, including triage, disease processes, pharmacology, restraint, diagnostic imaging, phlebotomy, anesthesia, laboratory equipment and procedures
• Advanced skill set (preferred, not required): central line placement, abdominocentesis, thoracocentesis, feeding tube placement, urinary catheter placement
• Attention to detail, with strong communication skills with both clients and team members
• Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) required; fluency in multiple languages a plus
