COMPLIANCE OFFICER-JUVENILE SERVICE CENTER
Purpose of Job
The purpose of this classification is to ensure the East TN Juvenile Service Center complies with all applicable laws, regulations, PREA standards, and internal policies while safeguarding the youth housed at the facility, staff, and maintaining operational integrity.

Essential Functions
- Monitor and evaluate facility compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and PREA requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance-related policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Conduct internal audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify compliance gaps and corrective actions.
- Serve as the facility’s PREA Compliance Manager, overseeing prevention, detection, reporting, and response efforts.
- Coordinate PREA investigations, tracking allegations, outcomes, and required notifications in accordance with policy and law.
- Ensure required staff training related to compliance, PREA, ethics, and reporting obligations is completed and documented.
- Act as liaison with oversight agencies, auditors, inspectors, and external partners during reviews and investigations.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and data to support audits, accreditation, and regulatory reporting.
- Provide guidance and technical assistance to leadership and staff on compliance-related matters.

Additional Job Functions
:
- Respond to and report immediately if called upon by local, regional or central office supervisors, as part of a coordinated emergency response by the Knox County Mayor’s Office
- Ensure regular, punctual attendance during scheduled work hours.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Potential risk of physical injury and exposure to biohazards and chemicals.
