The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist II monitors laboratory support processes against Aegis quality standards. This individual is responsible for identifying opportunities to improve the services we provide to Aegis clients through auditing of pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes, tracking of quality and performance metrics, and investigating trends and causal structure. He or she is responsible for the establishment of effective operating procedures and directives and facilitation of quality improvements through the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

Duties And Responsibilities Quality Audit
  • Support Aegis’ quality management system and the improvement of services through the review of pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes and outputs
  • Create, implement, and maintain an auditing program for adherence to accrediting and licensing bodies, Aegis quality standards, and SOPs
  • Participate as an internal auditor in internal audits for laboratory regulatory compliance
  • Identify critical quality issues and trends
  • Collect, analyze and document results dealing with patient demographics, testing and billing codes, and reporting requirements
  • Responsible for corrective actions, including documentation and follow-up
  • Maintain, track, analyze, and report key quality indices to management
Process Monitoring
  • Critically review pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes to monitor adherence to SOPs
  • Maintain, track, report, and analyze reporting errors and amended reports
  • Maintain, track, report, and analyze claim denials including reason for denial
  • Collaborate with Laboratory Operations and Finance Leads to identify improvement needs and assist in developing solutions to process failures
Successful Candidates Must Possess
  • High school diploma or GED required;
    Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience and training in process auditing OR a minimum of three (3) years of Aegis experience, possessing advanced knowledge of Aegis’ quality management system and pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes
  • Problem solving and analysis skills
  • Auditor training and certification preferred
