Overview
Quality Inspector at Gibson Brands, Inc. – Nashville, TN (Regular Full Time)
Gibson Inc. has shaped the sound of generations of musicians for over 130 years. The position inspects Gibson guitars to established quality levels and standards, leveraging guitar playing and setup experience to ensure a quality product.
Essential Functions- Evaluate Form, Fit, Function & Finish of Gibson Instruments.
- Complete Instrument Checklist, Shipping Label, and Photo Generation.
- Scan Instrument into RFID Database System.
- Log defects into Defect Database.
- Problem solve & communicate Instrument Defects to Departmental Team Leads & Supervisors.
- Maintain and clean designated work area.
- Support in any area of Gibson USA that requires assistance.
- Adherence to the Gibson Cardinal Safety Rules as per the Gibson Playbook for Cardinal Safety Rules and General Safety Rules.
- Submit Safety observations for identified hazards using the safety observation QR code.
- Support the Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure a safe work environment, maintain compliance with regulations, and improve safety processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 3-5 Years Guitar Playing Experience
- Great attention to detail
- Basic guitar maintenance knowledge – changing strings, string height adjustments, ability to evaluate playability, structural soundness, cosmetic adequacy, etc.
- Ability to adhere to Gibson Internal Quality Specifications & Standards
- Strong teamwork ethic
Education and Experience
- Results oriented with a track record for delivering to plan
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Basic computer knowledge – Excel, Word, web-based cloud applications, RFID scanning
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Passionate about working and winning in a team environment
- Results oriented and driven, with a track record for delivering to plan
- Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing circumstances; able to proactively question and identify solutions in a timely manner
- Clear and logical thinker
- Relish working in a diverse, challenging, and fast-paced environment
- Occasional travel to other facilities may be required, typically less than 10% of the time
Must be able to stand entire shift and lift guitars throughout the day.
