ELM Operations Engineer, ELM Program Launch

Job :  |  Services LLC

This role focuses on launching and ensuring operational readiness for new Amazon facilities and assets, working closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver a seamless, efficient building experience from the RME perspective. The engineer manages tactical launch activities, tracks progress, identifies risks, coordinates resources, and supports post‑launch reviews to continuously improve future launch outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute site‑level launch delivery: manage tactical launch activities for assigned sites from RME requirements through commissioning and post‑launch validation, following established quality standards and playbooks.
  • Maintain and drive project trackers: own site‑level launch trackers end‑to‑end, ensuring every milestone, owner, and commitment date is accurate, visible, and actioned on time.
  • Provide status updates and elevate risks: deliver clear, data‑driven updates on site‑level milestones to your manager and stakeholders, proactively flagging risks and blockers before they impact timelines.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional activities: work with Field RME, Operations Engineering, Construction, L&D, and vendor partners to keep site launches on track and remove barriers.
  • Track and report on launch readiness metrics: monitor IOQ status, staffing, training completion, spare parts delivery, and equipment commissioning for assigned sites, ensuring data accuracy in reporting tools.
  • Support post‑launch reviews: participate in post‑launch assessments, document lessons learned, and implement corrective actions at the site level to improve future launch outcomes.
Job Elements
  • Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds.
  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
  • Walk in the building and around areas with great frequency; facilities are over a quarter mile in length.
  • Stand/walk for up to 10‑12 hours.
  • Access all areas of building, including ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of maintenance or engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of refrigeration industry experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Experience in material handling equipment (MHE) or automation environments, or experience in reliability/maintenance environments.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional teams across engineering, operations, and field execution through launch readiness and go‑live phases.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of commercial CO2 refrigeration applications experience.
  • Refrigeration Trade School certificate.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level.
  • Knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs for commercial refrigeration systems.
  • Knowledge of performance metrics such as OEE, downtime, throughput, or quality.
  • Experience working with and managing third‑party vendors.
  • Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing.
  • Experience communicating technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience in Amazon RME (Reliability Maintenance Engineering) or fulfillment operations, or experience in similar environments.
  • Experience with retrofits, launches, or automation deployments.
  • Experience building launch readiness frameworks, standard work, playbooks, and scalable deployment mechanisms across multiple concurrent sites.
