The Nashville Symphony is looking for a Principal Bassoon for the upcoming 2026/2027 season. Auditions will take place in three rounds: the preliminary round on October 11-12, 2026, the semifinal round on October 12, and the finals on October 13, 2026. Candidates may be required to submit a recording if their resume does not pass the initial screening. All auditions will be conducted behind a screen on stage in Laura Turner Hall at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
The annual salary for this position is $93,150, along with an Electronic Media Guarantee of $1,040. The Nashville Symphony offers a range of benefits, including health insurance, paid leave, vacation, and a pension contribution. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S., and while the Symphony can provide a letter of support for non-U.S. citizens, it does not offer financial sponsorship.
