Account Executive – Education

Reports to:

Director of Sales for Critical Communications

Full‑Time - Salary - Commission – Benefits

Primary Role

Responsible for carrying out all company goals and objectives as established by the Director, Education Sales, relating to this position. The Account Executive is responsible for exceeding sales revenue goals, developing and maintaining valued customer relationships, expanding the company's current customer base, and developing and maintaining professional selling skills.

Responsibilities
  • Sell integrated solutions to existing client base while generating new business to expand the current customer base.
  • Provide timely and accurate response to customers' required proposal and/or bid circumstance.
  • Write and submit professional proposals.
  • Follow up on all sales leads in a timely and effective manner.
  • Promote company and the products and services offered.
  • Track and provide accurate sales information to company management.
  • Provide accurate and timely submittal of sales orders and job notes to appropriate order processing and technical staff.
  • Make necessary sales presentations to customers and management as requested.
  • Acquire and maintain sound knowledge of all product lines and services offered.
  • Consistently work with management to develop a competitive pricing structure.
  • Research and obtain information on position‑specific training opportunities.
  • Exceed all company sales goals and objectives as they relate to this position.
  • Other duties as required or assigned by company management.
Accountability

The Account Executive will be accountable to the Director, Education Sales. Secondary accountability will be to the other management team members, employees and customers of the company.

Qualifications
  • Possess a four‑year degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in business, marketing or engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in sales or service of electronic equipment.
  • Have knowledge of customer relations, marketing and communications, and project management.
  • Have a proven track record in selling.
  • Preferred: K‑12 District Level Selling Experience.
  • Experience in selling integrated solutions is a plus.
  • Preferred Sales

    Experience:

    K‑12 CIOs, Technology directors.
  • Expertise in any or all of: A/V Technology, Software, Integrated Solutions.
Travel

It is expected that this position will require a moderate to considerable amount of travel to customer and vendor sites.

  • Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers including MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to demonstrate planning, organization, and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.
  • Ability to effectively handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.
  • Valid and current driver’s license.
Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements
  • Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.
  • Some light lifting of objects up to 50 lbs. is required.
  • Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
