The Regional Market Account Executive is responsible for driving profitable growth by selling and servicing group benefit solutions to small and mid‑sized employers across the U.S., with a primary focus on Tennessee, inclusive of Nashville, East Tennessee, and Memphis. This hybrid role will operate out of Met Life’s Nashville, TN office. Guided by our purpose – always with you, building a more confident future – and Met Life’s New Frontier growth strategy, this role is a critical contributor to expanding Met Life’s presence in the Regional Market segment.
In this role, you will partner closely with brokers and consultants to deliver comprehensive benefit solutions to employers with 2−5,000 employees. You will generate new sales, deepen existing relationships, and act as a trusted advisor to clients and distribution partners. Key Responsibilities- Lead sales and servicing activities for assigned group customer accounts and territory, managing the full sales lifecycle from quoting through renewal
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive new sales, renewals, cross‑sell, and upsell opportunities while growing a profitable book of business
- Build and maintain strong broker and consultant relationships, serving as the primary benefits resource and trusted advisor
- Position Met Life’s full portfolio of group benefit solutions by coordinating cross‑channel offerings, including Dental, Vision, Life, STD, LTD, Voluntary Worksite Benefits, and Met Life Legal
- Collaborate with internal partners and key accounts to deliver stewardship meetings, support implementations and post‑sale service, share marketplace insights, and identify profitable growth opportunities
- Active Life & Health insurance license, or the ability to obtain within three months of hire
- 5+ years of experience in insurance or related sales experience
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, including presentation, negotiation, and influencing abilities
- Demonstrated listening and problem‑solving skills with a client‑first mindset
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% to engage with brokers and clients in market
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Proven experience managing broker/consultant relationships in the small to mid‑market segment
Location Expectation:
This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is $50,000. This role may also be eligible for incentive compensation under the sales plan for the position. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
