To be considered, applicants must have professional experience:
- Personally sourcing and developing new third-party multifamily management opportunities
- Building relationships with multifamily owners, investors, developers, and/or institutional clients
- Participating in or leading proposals, pitches, negotiations, and closing of property management agreements
- Demonstrating measurable success growing units under management and/or management-fee revenue
Experience in onsite property management, regional operations, leasing, real estate sales, brokerage, vendor sales, staffing, general B2B sales, or multifamily operations alone does NOT satisfy this requirement.
Applicants who cannot demonstrate direct experience winning third-party multifamily property management assignments will not be considered for this position.
The Legacy Company is a boutique multifamily property management firm seeking a proven third-party multifamily business development professional to drive portfolio expansion through the origination and closing of new fee-management.
This role requires an established track record of personally sourcing, pursuing, and closing third-party multifamily property management agreements with multifamily owners, investors, developers, and/or institutional clients.
This is not an entry-level business development role, brokerage position, acquisitions role, or general sales position. Candidates must be able to demonstrate prior success winning third party multifamily management assignments and growing units under management and management-fee revenue.
You will work directly with leadership and have the opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping the next stage of the company's expansion.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN- Build the Pipeline
- Proactively source new third-party multifamily management opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with multifamily owners, investors, developers, brokers, lenders, equity partners, and other industry decision-makers.
- Leverage existing industry relationships while continuously expanding the company's network and market presence.
- Identify acquisition, development, repositioning, and management-transition opportunities where our platform can add value.
- Win New Business
- Lead prospective clients through the full business development cycle—from initial conversation through executed management agreement.
- Develop compelling proposals, presentations, management plans, fee structures, and responses to RFPs.
- Participate in property evaluations, market reviews, due diligence, underwriting discussions, and management pitches.
- Clearly articulate our operating strategy and demonstrate how strong property management translates into stronger asset performance.
- Negotiate management agreements and help transition newly awarded properties into operations.
- Serve as a visible ambassador within the multifamily industry.
- Leverage and expand your existing multifamily network through owner relationships, industry conferences, networking events, property tours, referral sources, and industry organizations.
- Develop long‑term relationships rather than simply chasing individual transactions.
- Build a reputation and network that consistently creates new opportunities for the company.
- Partner With Operations
- Work closely with leadership, operations, accounting, marketing, and onsite teams to ensure new opportunities are operationally and financially sound.
- Help evaluate prospective assignments based on market conditions, asset performance, operational complexity, fee potential, and strategic fit.
