Job Summary: Ensures safety and security of students and school property within the school district. Observes student activities for safety, patrols hallways during the school day and oversees the daily release of students to their parents or guardians. The position works under direct supervision according to set procedures.
What you will do- Observes students and visitors to ensure the safety of the school.
- Conducts and evaluates fire drills. Assist with the evaluation of emergency drills and exercises.
- Oversees the daily arrival of students. Oversees the daily release of students to their parents and/or guardians.
- Patrols school hallways and grounds during school hours and assigned extracurricular events to ensure that only authorized visitors are on the premises.
- Responds to emergency situations (e.g., fights, injury, classroom disruption, etc.) to address immediate safety and security concerns; may be called upon to restrain students to reduce conflicts or respond to serious behavioral problems and protect the safety of the student or another person.
- Observes students in the cafeteria during lunch periods.
- Completes daily reports such as incident documentation, activity logs, hazard/maintenance reports.
- Communicates with school officials to receive instruction and relay information.
- High School Diploma, GED, or vocational training required.
- Requires six months of related experience.
Starting At: $20.69
Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
