Nashville Rescue Mission is actively seeking a full-time Lead Guest Security / Support Specialist 3to join our Women's Guest Services team. Are you the right person?

Position

Schedule:

Thursday - Sunday, 6:00 a.m.

- 4:30 p.m.You're alert and on guard.

Are you concerned about the safety and security of those around you? Are you always alert and paying attention to detail? This job requires the ability to stay focused and avoid distractions to ensure the safety of the area you oversee and protect.

A person who doesn't get riled easy is a good candidate for this job. You must be able to handle disruptions or disputes that might arise keeping your temper in check and maintain control of the situation. The right person for this job can't react angrily or violently to those who cause disruptions.

The ideal candidate for this position is willing to take the initiative and do whatever needs to be done to complete the task. You don't mind getting your hands dirty and pitching in to help.

  • Offers and provides customer assistance at all times.
  • Ensures well-organized, safe, and secure lobby area by maintaining a high standard of housekeeping.
  • Enters all entering guests through walk-through metal detectors.
  • Communicates with supervisor and management directly and through incident reporting system.
  • Maintains order among guests and protects property, visitors, volunteers, and other guests within the Guest Services entry lobby.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, common sense, and follows directions from supervisors.
  • Takes charge and directs others in emergencies or other dangerous situations within the Guest Servicesentry lobby.
  • Abides by all Nashville Rescue Mission policies and procedures, giving priority to safety and security procedures.
  • Exhibits professional appearance at all times.
  • Communicates via two-way radio (walkie-talkie) and/or telephone to a variety of first responders (Police, EMTs, and ambulance) as needed.
  • Provides front desk assistance in storing guest luggage, clearing lockers, and directing guests to appropriate assistance.
  • Assists in issuance of short‑term guest parking permits.
  • Provides nightly bed assignments using Mission computer system.
  • Assists case managers in completion of guest initial intake information.
  • Keeps exits and entrances clear and maintains lock down areas as specified.
  • Maintains an orderly, clean, and safe work environment within the Guest Services work area.
  • Aligns motives, values, and beliefs with Nashville Rescue Mission's values.
  • Works as a team player and recognizing that his/her actions directly impact the hospitable performance and reputation of Nashville Rescue Mission and the Mission'sStatement of Faith.
  • Assigned morning devotion leader for Guest Services.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential requirements of this position.
Other Duties:
  • Performs regular duties associated with client database.
  • Fills in for Guest Service Specialist as needed.
  • Performs all other duties and tasks assigned by supervisor or management.
Requirements
  • Completion of high school (diploma or equivalent) preferred.
  • Equivalent education or experience in job related activities may be substituted for education.
  • Recognized correctional institution, and/or security guard certification and associates licensures, including but not limited to restraint and crowd control, are a plus.
  • Driver’s license with clean record is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of computer guest registration processes and ability to perform those duties in different locations as guest volume and Nashville Rescue Missionactivities may require.
  • Have and maintain valid and current certifications for certain skills such as crisis prevention, first aid, CPR, and Narcan. Nashville Rescue Mission will provide certifications.
  • Must be able to work with all levels of staff, volunteers, guests, law enforcement, and other community partners.
  • Must be able to relate hospitably to people of different races, faiths, mental states, and states of inebriation.
Physical Factors:
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong, effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Must participate in annual crisis intervention training, learning restraint and de‑escalation protocols.
