The Field Service Technician, SPD is a highly technical, customer-facing role responsible for the installation, service, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of advanced sterile processing equipment in hospital and healthcare environments. This position supports critical patient safety operations by ensuring sterilizers, washers, ultrasonics, and cart washers function safely, reliably, and in compliance with regulatory standards.

This is a travel-intensive role (up to 80%) requiring strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, exceptional documentation practices, and professional communication with healthcare partners.

• Install sterile processing equipment—including steam sterilizers, washer-disinfectors, ultrasonic washers, and cart washers—according to manufacturer specifications.
• Inspect, test, diagnose, and troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment using appropriate diagnostic tools and instruments.
• Disassemble, repair, and replace mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components as required.
• Perform preventive maintenance and ensure equipment meets operational and safety standards.

• Coordinate installation projects with hospital staff and external contractors, verifying site readiness, utilities, logistics, and safety requirements.
• Maintain regular communication with customers and internal stakeholders regarding project status, service findings, and next steps.
• Provide remote service and diagnostics via phone, email, and video conferencing; escalate issues as appropriate.

• Complete service work orders, preventive maintenance records, installation documentation, expense reports, and compliance paperwork accurately and on time.
• Follow all company policies, safety guidelines, quality standards, and hospital regulatory requirements.

• Associate degree in electronics, fluid dynamics, or related technical field.
• Prior OEM field service experience in healthcare or regulated environments.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and site drawings independently.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and AC/DC electrical systems.
• Proven mechanical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting experience with complex equipment.
• Strong administrative and documentation skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR check required).
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and hospital credentialing.
• Frequent overtime (10–20 hours/week during peak periods), paid at time-and-a-half
• Annual pool bonus: 8–13% of total W2 earnings
