. Primary goal:
Keep our buses on the road and in optimal operating condition.

$26.61 to $30.11 / Hour (Additional Pay Incentives Available With ‘Transit Bus ASE’ Certifications)

• High School Diploma or GED
• Any combination of experience/education/training that provides the required knowledge.
• Possess a valid TN Class “A” Driver’s License with a “P” Endorsement (or successfully pass the applicable CDL Permit Tests, that includes paid CDL permit test training)
• Must pass drug and alcohol testing provisions for safety sensitive positions.
• Willingness and availability to work varying.

• Degree in Diesel Technology, Automotive Technology or similar OR Three years demonstrated experience in heavy duty diesel / automotive repair.

• Journey-level knowledge and skill in the principles, practices, techniques, tools and equipment of the automotive and diesel repair trade.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects in gasoline / diesel-powered buses, trucks, cars and other heavy motorized mechanical equipment; operate and maintain electronic diagnostic and related equipment.

Full-time, Civil Service positions: 10 Vacation Days per year (increasing after 5 years of service), 1 Sick Day per month, 12 Paid Holidays per year.

Public Safety - Sworn and Civilian positions: 20 vacation days per year, 3 Personal days per year, 1 Sick Day per month, 12 paid holidays per year.
