Job Summary

Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking a skilled Commercial Maintenance Technician for a short-term engagement of approximately 23 months. This role is responsible for the effective, efficient, and timely delivery of commercial maintenance services within an assigned geographic territory. The technician is provided with a company vehicle and tools and will travel to multiple sites to perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance.

This position requires strong multi-trade capabilities, a commitment to quality workmanship, and a professional approach to maintaining commercial facilities, equipment, and grounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs in accordance with work order requirements, company procedures, regulatory guidelines, and safety standards
  • Conduct minor plumbing maintenance, including but not limited to:
    • Repairing and unclogging toilets and urinals
    • Replacing and maintaining valve assemblies, faucets, fixtures, and automatic flush sensors
  • Perform routine painting, carpentry, and general maintenance to maintain facilities in like-new condition, including drywall repair, surface preparation, and paint matching
  • Repair and maintain walls, floors, doors, and other building components as needed for facility upkeep and appearance
  • Perform minor electrical maintenance as permitted by state regulations, including:
    • Replacement or repair of fixtures, switches, outlets, bulbs, ballasts, and sockets
  • Complete service inspections and asset inspections as required
  • Utilize mobile technology (tablet or smartphone) to:
    • Access, update, and close work orders with detailed service notes
    • Create and submit service reports and quality inspection documentation
    • Submit timesheets, expense reports, and purchase card logs
  • Procure necessary materials and supplies to complete assigned tasks
  • Maintain consistent and professional communication with internal support teams
  • Complete all required safety and compliance training and attend weekly safety meetings
  • Provide estimates for larger maintenance projects when needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Degree, certification, or equivalent professional experience in landscaping, building trades (electrical, HVAC, plumbing), or specialty floor care preferred.

Experience

  • Two to five years of general maintenance experience, including minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered
  • Prior experience in commercial maintenance or facilities services strongly preferred

Licenses & Certifications

  • Applicable certifications and licenses as required

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend safety policies, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to effectively communicate information in individual and small group settings
  • Ability to complete assigned work orders in a timely manner and communicate status through designated systems
  • Proficiency with handheld devices and business systems, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Knowledge of and compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and company directives
  • Strong understanding of OSHA standards and workplace safety practices
  • Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Ability to travel locally between multiple properties daily
