- Hillsboro Village is looking for an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Technician who knows how to troubleshoot, prioritize, and solve problems in a busy hotel environment.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with building systems, takes pride in getting to the root of an issue, and stays focused when multiple maintenance needs arise  are looking for more than someone who can complete basic repairs—we need a technician who is comfortable diagnosing problems, thinking through solutions, and taking ownership of issues through resolution.

• Troubleshoot Building Systems: Diagnose and repair issues involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and other hotel building systems.
• HVAC & Climate Control: Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain HVAC equipment and components. Experience with chilled beam systems, commercial HVAC, hydronic systems, or similar building systems is highly desirable.
• Plumbing & Water-Related Repairs: Identify sources of plumbing and water-related issues, perform repairs within your scope, and assist with coordinating more complex repairs when needed.
• Respond to Urgent Issues: Prioritize and respond quickly to maintenance situations that affect guest comfort, safety, or hotel operations while remaining calm and solutions-focused.
• Preventative Maintenance: Perform scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance to identify developing problems before they become larger repairs.
• Guest Room & Public Area Maintenance: Handle repairs involving fixtures, lighting, plumbing, doors, hardware, furniture, equipment, and other hotel components.
• Own the Problem: Follow maintenance issues from initial diagnosis through repair, vendor coordination, or final resolution rather than simply applying a temporary fix.
• Work Across Departments: Partner with Front Desk, Housekeeping, and hotel leadership to minimize disruptions and keep the property operating smoothly.
• Maintain a Safe Workplace: Follow applicable safety procedures, maintain organized work areas, and ensure tools and supplies are properly maintained and stocked.

• 2+ years of hands‑on maintenance or facilities experience required. Hotel, multifamily, commercial building, or similar facilities experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong HVAC and mechanical aptitude. Candidates should be comfortable troubleshooting building systems rather than relying solely on outside vendors.
• Solid plumbing knowledge. Experience diagnosing leaks, drainage issues, fixtures, valves, supply lines, and other common commercial plumbing problems is strongly preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting ability. You approach problems methodically, determine the likely cause, and work toward a lasting solution.
• Composure under pressure. Hotels move quickly. You can prioritize competing needs, communicate clearly, and remain steady when an unexpected issue arises.
• Ownership and follow-through. You take responsibility for maintenance issues and keep working the problem until there is a clear resolution.
• Good communication skills. You can explain maintenance concerns clearly to managers, coworkers, guests, and outside vendors.
• Physical ability to perform the role. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, bend, kneel, reach, and remain on your feet for extended periods.
• Schedule flexibility. Day and evening shifts available with weekend and holiday flexibility required.
