The Technician Helper supports the installation of low-voltage cabling systems across a variety of commercial and industrial sites. This role focuses on pulling and running cable through ceiling tiles, organizing materials, and using hand tools to assist with fire alarm, data cabling, and other low-voltage installations. The position is ideal for an entry-level candidate who is motivated, eager to learn a trade, and comfortable working in a construction and manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Pull cable and run cable through ceiling tiles and other building structures in commercial and industrial environments.
• Assist with installing low-voltage cabling systems, including fire alarm, data cable, and other related wiring.
• Lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs, ensuring work areas remain organized and safe.
• Use hand tools and basic construction tools to support cable pulling, installation, and termination tasks.
• Help with termination testing and basic verification of cabling installations under guidance from experienced technicians.
• Support general labor activities on construction and manufacturing job sites, including material handling and site cleanup as needed.
• Follow detailed instructions, including reading and interpreting spreadsheets when required.
• Work safely around electrical and low-voltage systems, adhering to all site safety rules and procedures.
• Travel to various job sites across the greater Nashville area, including locations such as Murfreesboro, Franklin, Smyrna, Madison, and surrounding communities.
• Maintain professionalism on all job sites, especially in data center and high-profile facility environments.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience using hand tools in a construction, manufacturing, or similar environment.
• At least 1 year of construction or wiring experience, including cable pulling or related general labor work.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment or with machine operation is beneficial for understanding industrial job sites.
• Exposure to low-voltage systems, installation, fire alarm wiring, pulling wire, data cable work, and termination testing.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
• Comfort working on commercial construction job sites, industrial facilities, and existing commercial buildings such as hospitals, schools, data centers, banks, and office buildings.
• Motivated, entry-level mindset with a strong desire to learn the low-voltage trade and develop technical skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle for commuting to job sites; ability to travel up to approximately 50 miles from Nashville.
• Willingness and availability to work overtime and varied shifts, including off-shift and weekend schedules when required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working specifically with low-voltage cabling is a plus.
• Previous experience as a cable puller or in related installation roles is advantageous.
• Work history in construction, manufacturing, or industrial environments is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly for data center work and projects that rely on precise documentation and spreadsheet tracking.
• Professional demeanor suitable for working in sensitive environments such as data centers and large industrial plants.
• Eagerness to grow into more advanced roles, including potential progression into Lead positions.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively with project teams on job sites.
