General Job Description Position Overview
The Electrical Service Technician is responsible for performing electrical service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work while supporting operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. This role works closely with customers, employees, vendors, and leadership to diagnose electrical issues, complete service work safely, and ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
Primary Responsibilities- Perform electrical service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on electrical systems and equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical service issues in residential, commercial, or operational environments.
- Review service requests, project plans, specifications, and work orders to support accurate job completion.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable electrical codes.
- Communicate with customers regarding service needs, repairs, timelines, and recommendations.
- Coordinate with employees, vendors, subcontractors, and internal departments regarding service activities and operational needs.
- Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation related to electrical work and customer interactions.
- Support project timelines and assist with resolving operational concerns in the field.
- Monitor tools, equipment, materials, and job site conditions to support operational efficiency and safety.
- Assist with supporting and training less experienced technicians as needed.
- Maintain professionalism and effective communication throughout all customer and operational interactions.

- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and operational awareness.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams and departments.
- Proficiency in using electrical tools, testing equipment, and related systems.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and electrical codes.
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions and resolve issues effectively under pressure.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screenings such as background and motor vehicle record checks.
- English speaking, reading, and writing preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties.
- Maintain professionalism and a positive, respectful demeanor with customers, coworkers, and business partners.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous electrical service, maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair experience preferred.
- Experience with in construction, operations, or service environments preferred.
- Relevant industry certifications or licenses preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties.
- Experience supporting field operations or assisting senior technicians is a plus.
- Communicate in person, by phone, and through email.
- Travel as required to support project and operational needs.
- Stand, walk, climb ladders and stairs, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
- Sit for extended periods while driving to and between job sites.
- Work on active job sites, indoors and outdoors, including attics, crawlspaces, and confined or elevated spaces, with exposure to varying weather, construction noise, dust, and other job site conditions.
- Wear safety gear such as Personal Protective Equipment.
- Maintain dependable transportation and consistent, reliable attendance to meet customer service and operational needs.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions within established company policies and procedures.
- Ability to work overtime, modified schedules, or occasional weekends as business needs require.
- Perform all work on-site and in person; this is not a remote or hybrid position.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
