- Small Cell Job Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for performing construction, repair, and maintenance of small cell towers and accompanying structures. This includes system testing, rigging, grounding, coax/fiber handling, and connector installation. Operates independently on moderately complex systems. Entry level position will be trained in proper PPE usage, and specialized equipment operation.
Primary Responsibilities- Collaborate with team members and site supervisors to support small cell construction and maintenance activities, ensuring timely completion of project milestones, including assembling/erecting sites, installing antennas, mounting hardware, installing coax and connectors, grounding, testing, positioning, and optimizing antennas and lines.
- Follow OSHA and company-specific EHS guidelines while performing tasks, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues using diagnostic methods and repair techniques.
- Conduct equipment testing, including sweep testing, Passive Intermodulation (PIM) testing, and fiber testing, to confirm system performance and compliance with specifications.
- Installation of RF and antenna system components such as antennas, TMA's, RRU's, diplexers, coax, hybrids, grounding, supports, weatherproofing, connectors, hardware, etc.) knowledge and experience of major carrier sites including upgrades, MODS, NSB, Electrical, Civil, DAS, Small Cells, etc.
- Actively participate in development and training opportunities to build a solid understanding of telecom systems, industry tools, and equipment.
- Read and interpret basic construction drawings, RF data sheets, and other documentation to ensure proper installation and system alignment.

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in reading and understanding construction drawings, RF data sheets, and advanced electrical concepts.
- Strong communication skills to articulate technical issues and progress both verbally and electronically.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions on moderately complex tasks.
- Ability to meet and pass all DOT requirements.

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Travel Required- Ability to work in varied weather conditions except for unsafe or extreme conditions.
- Ability to travel and work in remote locations outside of metropolitan areas.
- Desire and physical ability to work at elevation within a bucket truck or manlift, carrying loads in excess of 50 pounds.
