We are seeking an experienced Carpenter or construction professional to join our Guardian Firestop Solutions team as a Fire stopping Technician. This is primarily a fire stopping position, with limited carpentry and general construction work. If you have a background in carpentry, framing, remodeling, drywall, or a related trade, we'll train you to install specialized firestop systems in commercial construction environments.

Responsibilities Include- Install firestop systems (penetration fire stopping, joint fire stopping, curtain wall systems, etc.) to meet project specifications and UL systems.
- Interpret blueprints, construction documents, and technical specifications related to carpentry and firestop installations.
- Identify and select appropriate firestop materials for different substrates and penetrants (e.g., pipes, conduits, ducts, cables).
- Prepare and clean surfaces for application and ensure proper adhesion of firestop products.
- Document installations, including system types, materials used, and locations, for inspection and quality assurance purposes.
- Complete general punch-list, remodel, and maintenance carpentry tasks as assigned by project managers or site supervisors.
- Assist with general job site setup, material staging, and cleanup.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal fire codes, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Work closely with project managers, inspectors, and other trades to ensure quality installations.
- Use carpentry and firestop tools and equipment safely, including saws, drills, nail guns, caulking guns, and hand tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper handling of materials and tools.
- Participate in safety meetings and adhere to all company safety protocols.
- Work in all weather conditions.
- Perform tasks at heights such as attics, ladders, scaffolding, and commercial ceilings.
- Enter tight or confined spaces, such as crawl spaces and mechanical rooms.
