Job Description
First Team Staffing is hiring an experienced Trailer Mechanic / Welder-Fabricator for a leading company in the Hermitage, TN area. This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trailers and related mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with trailer repair, brake systems, electrical systems, suspension components, welding, and metal fabrication.
Hours:07:00am-03:30pm, 2:30pm-11:00pm
Schedule:Full-Time, 8-hour shift, approximately 40 hours per week
Job Responsibilities- Inspect, diagnose, and repair trailers and related equipment.
- Repair and maintain brake systems, electrical systems, suspension components, and trailer bodies.
- Perform brake repairs and safety inspections.
- Diagnose mechanical problems using appropriate diagnostic tools.
- Perform trailer body and structural repairs.
- Weld and solder as needed for repairs and fabrication.
- Perform metal fabrication as required.
- Inspect completed repairs to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and applicable regulations.
- Ability to perform physically demanding mechanical and repair work.
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, lift, and work throughout an 8-hour shift.
- Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and trailers.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift.
- Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
- Previous experience in automotive repair, trailer repair, or mechanical work.
- Experience with trailer brake repair and inspections.
- Experience with trailer body repair.
- Familiarity with tractor-trailers and their components.
- Mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic experience.
- Experience with welding and soldering techniques.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems and repair procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Trailer mechanic experience: 1 year preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge: 1 year preferred.
- English proficiency preferred.
- Previous mechanic or automotive repair experience preferred.
- Must have knowledge of trailer components and mechanical systems.
- Must be able to perform brake inspections and repairs.
- Welding and soldering experience preferred.
