Training and Technical Assistance Specialist

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, high-quality training for domestic and sexual violence professionals using both in-person and virtual formats.
• Provide training on topics related to the intersection of substance use (including opioid misuse), domestic violence, sexual assault, and survivor safety, as assigned.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of the Coalition’s Annual Conference, the Tommy Burks Victim Assistance Academy, webinars, and other Coalition-hosted trainings.
• Support programs in developing policies, procedures, and practices that address substance use in a way that is non-punitive, survivor-centered, and aligned with harm-reduction principles, as appropriate.
• Track training participation, technical assistance activities, and outcomes—including substance use–related training and TA—to support continuous quality improvement.

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field required.
• Three (3) or more years of experience working in a domestic and/or sexual violence program.
• Two (2) or more years of experience facilitating training for adult learners, both in-person and virtual.
• Strong understanding of nonprofit organizations and community-based service systems.
• Knowledge of the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence and the systems that support survivors.
• Experience applying trauma-informed and evidence-based practices.
• Experience with federal and/or state grant-funded programs preferred.
