Overview: The Associate Software Engineer will build and implement functional programs. This role is responsible for contributing to software development activities at a moderate level with guidance from senior engineers. The role focuses on creating, testing, maintaining, and ensuring the quality of software modules within the organization’s products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Write high‑quality, testable code with direct supervision and step‑by‑step guidance from senior team members.
- Create and maintain automation scripts to improve system efficiency and reduce manual operational effort.
- Participate in software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, performance analysis, code reviews, and risk assessments.
- Research, conceive, and develop software applications to extend and improve CCS's product offering.
- Contribute to a wide variety of projects utilizing natural language processing, artificial intelligence, data compression, machine learning, and search technologies.
- Collaborate on scalability issues involving access to data and information.
- Solve challenges/problems that you are presented with.
- Strive to meet team sprint commitments.
- Integrate software components and third‑party programs; verify and deploy programs/systems.
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software.
- Gather and evaluate user feedback and execute improvement recommendations based on input.
- Create technical documentation for reference and reporting.
- Adhere to all confidentiality, HIPAA, regulatory, and other such policies, procedures, and requirements as outlined within CCS’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the scope of work.
- Maintain compliance with CCS’s policies, procedures, and mission statement, and fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by CCS for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success.
Job Requirements:
- 0-2 years of experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar role.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with software design and development in a test‑driven environment.
- Knowledge of functional programming languages.
- Experience with databases and Object‑Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks (e.g. Hibernate).
- Ability to learn new languages and technologies.
- Excellent communication skills, resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude.
- Experience working with Unix/Linux, Windows or macOS environments, distributed systems, machine learning, information retrieval and TCP/IP.
- Versatile and enthusiastic to take on new problems across the Business Units (BUs), continuing to push technology forward.
- Travel for this position will include less than 10% locally usually for training purposes.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology
