Sr Software Engineer

The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Security and Compliance Platform Engineering organization seeks a highly skilled engineer to contribute to the development of next‑generation, AI‑driven cybersecurity solutions at cloud scale. The role focuses on ingesting and processing massive volumes of telemetry and security event data across OCI, leveraging generative AI, large language models, and machine learning to build intelligent detection, response, and mitigation systems.

The goal is to deliver autonomous adaptive security capabilities that protect OCI, Oracle, and customers against evolving threats. This position requires U.S. citizenship.

• Design, develop, test, and deploy well‑structured and maintainable code in a distributed systems and/or big data stack.
• Implement enhancements and bug fixes under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Collaborate closely with teammates on design reviews, code reviews, testing, and operational support.
• Participate in operational monitoring and on‑call rotations to gain real‑world experience with highly available cloud systems.
• Write clear documentation and contribute to runbooks, tools, and test automation for improved team velocity.
• Actively seek feedback and mentorship to continuously grow technical and professional skills.

• BS/MS degree or equivalent in a related technical field involving coding, with 3+ years of overall experience.
• Experience building and designing microservices and/or cloud native applications and/or big data pipelines/systems.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, a can‑do attitude, and the ability to think on the go.
• Strong fundamentals of OS, networks, distributed systems, fault tolerance, and high‑availability design.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java, Kotlin, Python, C#) and container experience (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Detail‑oriented, task‑driven, and excellent communication skills.

• Experience with architectural patterns for high availability, performance, scale‑out, disaster recovery, and security architecture in cloud environments.
• Exposure to at least one cloud service provider (AWS/OCI/Azure/GCP).
• Experience implementing container monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana), CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git Lab), and build tools (Gradle, Ant, Maven).

Hiring Range in USD from: $79,200 - $209,500 per year, with potential bonus and equity.
