We are currently seeking a Data Engineer to join our team on‑site in either Nashville, TN or Plano, TX.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a senior data and cloud engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing development tasks within an Agile framework, leading cloud migration efforts, providing production support on a rotational basis, and implementing new business feature requests.
Agile & Sprint Management- Operate within a bi‑weekly sprint cycle to deliver tasks assigned by the team lead based on business priorities.
- Manage individual deliverables tracked through standard project management workflows (covering cloud migration, maintenance, Dev Ops pipeline enhancements, and new feature intakes).
- Actively participate in daily stand‑ups, code reviews, and technical demonstrations.
- Participate in brainstorming and solutioning sessions to contribute to cloud migration frameworks.
- Analyze legacy batch processes (inbound/outbound feeds, reporting) to map out execution frequencies and scheduling dependencies.
- Evaluate code modifications required to transition legacy on‑premises applications to a cloud environment.
- Plan and execute code changes, perform rigorous unit testing, and leverage CI/CD pipelines to deploy to lower environments (UAT/Performance) for functional validation.
- Ensure secure file transfer protocols (SFTP) are configured and working flawlessly across all environments.
- Plan, schedule, and deploy code scripts, database logic, and job scheduling configurations to Production.
- Monitor newly migrated cloud jobs for multiple cycles to ensure stability and error‑free execution.
- Provide dedicated production support coverage during designated business hours on a rotational team schedule.
- Respond to and resolve system incidents logged in the enterprise IT service management (ITSM) tool.
- Analyze production issues to identify root causes; efficiently route data or application issues to appropriate cross‑functional teams when necessary.
- Troubleshoot batch job failures, resolve CI/CD pipeline deployment errors, and address ad‑hoc data maintenance requests and user queries.
- Implement new core features and enhancements for data batch processing systems.
- Modify existing data feed formats, adjust schema structures (adding/removing columns), update core business logic, or build net‑new data extraction pipelines.
- Partner closely with business stakeholders and requestors to align technical deliverables with business requirements.
- This position requires being on‑site 5 days a week at either our Nashville, TN or Plano, TX campus.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent professional work experience.
- 10+ years of deep experience in enterprise relational database programming (Advanced SQL, PL/SQL) and scripting languages (e.g., Shell scripting).
- 3+ years of experience building and deploying solutions on public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
- Proven experience working within ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) paradigms and Data Warehousing environments.
- Familiarity or hands‑on experience with Master Data Management (MDM) concepts and tools.
- Practical experience with modern programming languages for data automation (e.g., Python).
- Hands‑on experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automation servers (e.g., Jenkins).
- Demonstrated background supporting critical, high‑availability production environments.
- Experience or domain knowledge within the Financial Services industry.
- Prior experience acting in a Project Lead or technical leadership capacity.
