Sports Instructor

Troubadour Golf & Field Club, located outside of Nashville, Tennessee, is looking for a Sports and Adventure Instructor for its Outdoor Pursuits Department. This full‑time hourly position is seasonal; starting rate $17.00 per hour. Candidates must be available for training from May 18th through May 29th.

In this role, you will help create the Discovery Land Company experience for members and employees, supervising and instructing in a variety of outdoor activities.

• Lead and instruct individuals or groups in activities such as kayaking, canoeing, fishing, archery, axe throwing, skeet shooting, pickleball, padel, tennis, basketball, baseball, football, soccer, and lacrosse.
• Brief participants on safety and logistics.
• Clean, maintain, and prepare equipment.
• Supervise members, youth, and families to provide a healthy, safe, and memorable experience.
• Execute daily activities and ensure high‑quality programs and customer service.
• Facilitate positive group relationships and address conflict constructively.
• Practice all safety standards on property and at activity spaces.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Be willing to be active outdoors all day in variable weather conditions and walk extensively around The Farmstead.

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 18 years old.
• Maintain facilities and equipment in a clean, safe, and secure manner.
• Work in a team environment and operate in a safe, professional manner.
• Work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Meet the physical demands of the position (outdoors in all weather, standing, walking, moving for >8 hours, lifting up to 50 pounds).
• Optimal candidates will have experience with sports/outdoor adventure activities, including:
• Instructor or pursuing a degree in Parks & Recreation or Sports Management.
• Sports/Outdoor adventure instructor or coach.
• Youth leadership in a non‑profit organization.

• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; long hours may be required.
• Team‑work and ability to stay calm during peak times.
• Fluency in English; additional languages preferred.
