Shift: A-shift Flexile hours
Job Summary: The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating gasoline and diesel vehicles and equipment to perform airfield service and construction activities both on and off the airfield.
Essential Job Duties:
- Operates vehicles and construction equipment to perform airfield service and construction activities.
- Provides frontline airport security observation and maintains security of airport perimeter and remote airfield border.
- Maintains airfield communication with air traffic control tower.
- Operates equipment safely around other people and possibly in a confined environment.
- Performs FAA FAR Part 139 training and testing annually, maintaining knowledge of FAA Specifications for the airfield.
- Responds to airport emergencies and inclement weather incidents during all hours, to include emergency pavement repairs.
- Performs snow removal to include extended stay at airport during events.
- Utilizes basic computer skills for training, testing, and GIS data entry.
- Backs up Airport Operations department during airfield closures by placing barricades and lighted equipment as necessary.
- Conducts basic maintenance on vehicles and small engines.
- Preforms minor fence repairs.
- Performs trash pick-up.
- Provides escorts on the airfield as needed.
- Reports airfield security concerns.
- Provides backup assistance to all other airport maintenance departments as directed.
- Uses two-way airfield radio equipment to communicate with others.
- Works occasional off-hour schedule and over-time for nighttime operations.
- Directs traffic when needed.
- Maintains Movement Area Driver Status
- Maintains regular on-time attendance.
- Follows all safety regulations.
- Supports MNAA's commitment to its culture and values, including Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence (RISE).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Safety and Security:
Knowledge of equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safety and security. - Mechanical Systems:
Knowledge of techniques and safety practices used in the installation and maintenance of mechanical systems. - Receiving Direction:
Skill in receiving and following written and oral direction. - Equipment Operation:
Skill in operating diesel and gas powered equipment used for construction and maintenance. - Leadership:
Skill in leading, taking charge, and offering opinions and direction. - Dependability:
Acts reliably and responsibly with others. - Ability to obtain and maintain a Secure Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge.
Required:
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of related experience.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Air Operators Area (AOA) Clearance (within 180 days of hire)
- Forklift Certification (within 30 days of hire)
- 4-7 years of related experience.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) CLASS B
