Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Truck Driver to join our Mayer team in Nashville, TN.
SummaryEmployee level, pay and responsibilities depend on experience, knowledge, and capabilities. The Truck Driver – Combined will deliver products to customers, company branches, and suppliers using a delivery van or box truck (no CDL required). The driver ensures deliveries meet customer requirements, are correct, and free of damage.
What You’ll Do- Inspect company vehicle for visual and operating defects; complete daily inspection report.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, service, and repair alerts.
- Comply with DOT, local, and state driving laws.
- Load/unload vehicles, ensuring correct quantity, type, and undamaged materials before departure.
- Assist in preparing orders for delivery.
- Complete all required documentation at delivery – delivery receipt, packing list, and manifest.
- Pick up material returns and verify condition, quantity, and catalog numbers.
- Pick up material from suppliers.
- Senior drivers mentor entry-level drivers.
- Support additional warehouse duties such as order filling, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications– What You’ll Need
- Attend company driver training if lacking experience.
- Hold a valid driver's license.
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Pass pre‑employment and annual motor vehicle record checks.
- Obtain and maintain a non‑expired medical certificate required by law within 60 days of hire.
- Avoid suspended license for traffic violations or accidents within the last 3 years.
- Maintain a clean driving record with no at‑fault accidents in the last 3 years.
- Handle loads up to 26,000 GVW.
- Resolve basic issues and problems independently.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of safety regulations, traffic, and driver laws.
- Adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
- Apply excellent organizational and time‑management skills to meet deadlines.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain attention to detail.
- Work overtime as needed.
- Sit: maintain a stationary position constantly, at least 51% of the shift.
- Walk: move inside/outside location occasionally up to 20% of the shift.
- Use hands: operate computer and machinery constantly, at least 51%.
- Stoop/Kneel/Crouch: crouch to stock shelves or other tasks occasionally up to 20%.
- Climb/Balance: ascend/descend ladders, forklifts, or pallet jacks occasionally up to 20%.
- Talk/Hear/Sense: communicate with co‑workers and detect hazards constantly, at least 51%.
- Up to 10 pounds – constantly, at least 51%.
- Up to 25 pounds – constantly, at least 51%.
- Up to 50 pounds – frequently, 21%–50%.
- Exposure to high noise, heat, or cold – occasionally, up to 20%.
- Exposure to electrical hazards and risk of shock – occasionally, up to 20%.
- Use of potentially dangerous equipment – frequently, 21%–50%.
