Position: Full Time Lowboy Driver

Sunrise Contracting is seeking a skilled and dependable

Full-Time Lowboy Driverto join our team. This position is responsible for safely hauling heavy construction equipment to and from job sites throughout the Nashville area. All work is local and surrounding Nashville, with no over-the-road travel required.

Job Type: Full-time

The ideal candidate will have previous lowboy or heavy-haul experience, a clean MVR, a strong understanding of DOT safety requirements, and basic knowledge of trucks, trailers, and heavy construction equipment. This role is an important part of supporting our grading, excavation, utility, storm drain, and sewer projects by making sure equipment is delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

We are a drug-free company. Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and any other random drug tests that should follow.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate a lowboy tractor-trailer to transport heavy equipment to and from local job sites
  • Load, secure, haul, and unload equipment including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, compactors, skid steers, and other construction equipment
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers
  • Properly chain, bind, and secure equipment in accordance with DOT requirements
  • Communicate with supervisors, equipment operators, and jobsite crews to coordinate deliveries and pickups
  • Maintain safe driving practices at all times while operating on public roads and active construction sites
  • Assist with basic truck and trailer maintenance checks and report needed repairs
  • Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and jobsite procedures
  • Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of trucks, trailers, and assigned equipment
Qualifications:
  • Previous lowboy, heavy-haul, or construction equipment hauling experience required
  • Knowledge of DOT safety requirements and load securement regulations
  • Understanding of heavy equipment operations and safe loading/unloading practices
  • Basic knowledge of trucks, trailers, air brakes, hydraulics, and general equipment maintenance
  • Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and active construction sites
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well with supervisors and field crews
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work full-time hours with overtime as needed
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to support the team
