Shipping Manager

Contract Lumber, a growing building materials supplier, is seeking a Shipping Manager to lead daily shipping, receiving, and logistics at our Tennessee location. In this hands-on role, you'll oversee yard and warehouse staff, schedule and route deliveries, coordinate with freight carriers, and ensure accurate, on-time shipments for homebuilders and contractors. You'll manage inventory accuracy, shipping documentation, and safe loading practices while driving efficiency and solving problems in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shipping, receiving, and logistics operations for building materials
• Lead, schedule, and develop yard and warehouse staff to meet service goals
• Plan delivery routes and coordinate with freight carriers and drivers
• Ensure accurate order picking, staging, loading, and documentation
• Monitor inventory accuracy and collaborate with operations on stock movement
• Enforce safety, DOT, and OSHA standards in yard and warehouse activities
• Track key performance metrics and drive continuous process improvements
• Partner with sales, operations, and field teams to resolve shipping issues quickly
