Front Desk Clerk (Parks and Recreation)
The City of Natchez Parks and Recreation Department is seeking an energetic, organized, and customer‑service‑oriented Parks and Recreation Front Desk Clerk. This focused, part‑time role serves as the welcoming face of The Courts at Duncan Park, primarily handling day‑to‑day pro shop operations, guest services, and light facility upkeep. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys direct public interaction in an active community environment.
Responsibilities- Facility Operations & Customer Service:
Greet guests, manage court reservations, check‑in players, and handle court fee collections using reservation software. - Sales & Membership Management:
Process transactions for concessions, merchandise, and program fees. Promote and sell facility memberships to visitors. - Financial Accountability:
Perform daily cash deposits and maintain accurate transaction logs. - Facility Maintenance:
Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting facility. Duties include sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning/stocking, general pro‑shop housekeeping, and collecting trash from the courts. Report major maintenance issues promptly. - Program & Team Support:
Assist with checking in participants for leagues, tournaments, and special events as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. - Other Duties: as assigned by management.
Schedule:
This position requires a flexible schedule of 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends to support league play, tournaments, and peak community usage.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in Sports Management, Business, or a related field is a plus.
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to interact effectively with the public and team members.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to quickly learn and use recreation management software.
- Strong basic math skills for handling cash, processing sales, and balancing daily deposits.
- Previous experience in customer service, retail sales, or recreation support is preferred.
- Must be reliable, detail‑oriented, trustworthy, and able to work independently.
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening required.
