The Sawyer Position will be invested in Jones Lumber. The Employee will be brought into the safety culture. Sawyers are needed at various stations such as Headrig, Resaw, and Trim Saw. They will have several responsibilities on location and should take full ownership of their position.

General Responsibilities

• Work safely - know, understand, and follow all safety rules
• Cut hardwood lumber and timber using a circular saw
• Clean up equipment daily
• Record and maintain a daily log
• Perform weekly and routine maintenance on the machine
• Safely maintain the flow of the product
• Utilize hand tools to clean up sawmill debris

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a circular saw
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Enthusiasm for being part of a team and working in a team-oriented environment
• Self-motivated, resourceful, and willing to take initiative
• Ability to make decisions quickly, utilizing hand-eye-hand-foot coordination
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs
• Ability to exert muscle force in repeated or continuous motion for prolonged periods
• Ability to stand for an extended period of time
