The CDL Truck Driver is responsible for delivering building materials to customer job sites while providing professional and courteous service. This role requires knowledge of loading/unloading procedures, safe equipment operation (trucks and Moffetts), and adherence to safety protocols. Drivers are also expected to maintain equipment, complete preventative maintenance logs, and assist with yard duties such as loading customers and keeping areas clean.
A clean driving record and strong customer service skills are essential.
- Education:
Basic education, which includes the ability to competently read and write. - Training and
Experience:
Two years of experience operating a motor vehicle specified by license. Compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Experience with building materials preferred - Job Knowledge:
Driving skills and building material knowledge are preferred. - Physical Demands:
Work requires much physical effort and involves little sitting, standing, walking, and some heavy lifting regularly. Works in a non-air-conditioned environment. - License or Certification :
Valid Commercial (CDL) driver’s license. Must be able to pass a physical and drug screen (DOT where required by FMCSA), clean MVR, and insurability for driving.
