Northwestern State University seeks a BIM Research Associate to work with the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training, based in Natchitoches, Louisiana. The role focuses on documenting and preserving historic structures across the United States using digital twins, reality capture technology, and BIM/CAD software. The position is a two-year contract involving creating 3D models, managing construction drawings, field data collection at historic sites, and compiling technical reports.
Keyqualifications
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, and BIM/CAD software
- Knowledge of reality capture technology and digital twins
- Ability to travel to remote sites for weeks at a time for field data collection
- Moderate knowledge of photographic techniques and architectural history
- Undergraduate degree required with valid US driver’s license
- Experience with LiDAR, UAS photogrammetry, GIS systems, or related technologies preferred
